The MERCURY is a plate carrier from Sioen, which is designed in a compact way to provide maximum comfort and flexibility. This plate carrier gives you the option to carry hard bulletproof plates at the front and rear of the hull. Full-surface MOLLE system allowing high payload for such a small area. Very easy to put on, good freedom of movement, easy to adjust thanks to Velcro closures on the shoulders and a buckle system on the sides. The buckles for the shoulder straps are located at the rear, leaving the front free of large obstructive buckles and allowing for comfortable shouldering of a rifle. A 3D tunnel spacer lining gives the feeling of great comfort. The Mercuri is also equipped with Velcro to attach any type of identification badges, it also has a dorsal extraction strap. An internal mounting system of the hard plates ensures good positioning of the plates, also during pursuits.

Working principle, bullet hits the hard bulletproof plate, deforms, breaks and shatters. These shattered bullet fragments pass through the NIJ-4 ICW bulletproof plate and are absorbed by the soft bulletproof vest worn underneath. This does cause a minor trauma injury that is unpleasant but harmless. This NIJ-4 ICW plate is relatively thin.
